An Open Letter to Jorge Zimmerman

George,

How are ya? Not too good huh. Actually, this past two months had to be more than a nightmare for you.Not just because you killed an unarmed 17 year old young black man.I bet you couldn't have expected so many people to respond the way they have.I mean how could you expect such an uproar? after all, black men die everyday and barely an eye blinks. Maybe you know a little black history.Maybe you have heard about Emmett Till and how his murderers got away with the crime. This is your world right. You have surely heard the support from the "conservative media".Folks just may take your side. Those Coons! In your world as you said "they always get away" which is strange because there are over 2 million of "them"
in prison today. So maybe you mean the folks in the picture that I have attached. They "got away with it! They killed Emmett Till.

What I think must have hurt you the most is the discovery that you sir are not indeed "white" as you thought you were for over 28 years. As the son of a "White Supreme Court magistrate" you must've enjoyed a life of leisure. Raised far away from those "unsightly people of color" you were free for nearly three decades to hurl racial epithets and insults immune to judgment and correction. The details of your mother's heritage in Peru were not as important .You lived the "suburban dream" in Fairfax County, Virginia without ever having to address issues like "race".
What a shock it must be to find out what it's like to be hated by so many. How does it feel to wake up and suddenly learn that you are considered not "white",a color described by Webster's dictionary in various levels of esteem and glory. Instead "Jorge",(BTW,may I call you Jorge) you are a member of the very group that for so many years you felt was inferior, unseemly, and altogether vulgar.
Rumor has it that you called the police over 46 times to report "suspicious people" Jorge, how many of those people were like you...a person of color. While the language that your mother spoke was of European roots through your veins diluted African blood flowed freely. That truth Jorge must hurt, yes indeed it must hurt.
Your very soul must boil over with hatred and anger. Was it that anger or the reminder of "The African truth" that caused you to hate so many that were so obviously black? I bet it was! I bet that fateful evening when you saw young Trayvon Martin walking home you were reminded of that terrible "African Truth". Why was this man so happy in all of his "blackness" ? How could he be talking on a cell phone and eating skittles so joyously and be a "black man"? He was definitely up to NO GOOD!! Jorge, was it then you realized that you had to do something, you had to exert your authority. An authority unsupported by any police force in any of the fifty states. Why is that Jorge? why can't you be a real police officer? Never mind because you have a gun! That's right you have a gun!  You had to know that killing this guy would be no problem after all he was "just another coon".You might have thought that you'd be a hero because you had to know the history in the south and in Sanford, Florida particularly.
What a surprise it must be.To actually see many "White"people protest against you and all that you have grown to believe it means to be "white" in America.
I actually can understand why you might want to destroy the reputation of the victim,Trayvon Martin. You have to.You can't go to prison! especially because you now know that you are not white and therefore not privileged as you thought for so many years. What do I mean you say, well in prison you will need to align yourself with a group to survive. The White Supremacists aren't going to take you are they? How about the Latinos?,maybe not, since you turned your back on them years ago and they are also "the children of a lesser god". That would leave one other group Jorge and they have been watching A LOT OF TELEVISION! Since you can't take your gun in with you Jorge may I give you one suggestion,be nice, and try not to call any of them that word you like.Try not to call them "coons". Oh and Jorge, one other thing that just may make jail a problem,.........wasn't daddy a judge?
